MMOEXP: Trend will continue as Electronic Arts confirms FC 25
The ongoing war in Ukraine continues to touch lives in and out of the war-torn country, including the video FC 25 Coins game industry which has been showing support for Ukraine through charitable efforts by studios like Epic Games and Riot Games. For players in Russia, though, it means they can no longer purchase or play many of the biggest titles with companies such as PlayStation suspending sales in Russia while pulling any content relating to Russia.
It appears the trend will continue as Electronic Arts confirms FC 25 will not feature any Russian teams as part of the company's ongoing support of Ukraine. FC 25 will be the final game as part of EA's 20-year licensing partnership with FC, the international governing body for association football which oversees international play among the 211 national associations.
The game will feature typical modes, like Ultimate Team and career, which players have come to expect along with the massive roster of international teams with World Cup content to release in a post-launch update. It will also feature the debut of women's domestic league teams from across the U.S. and Europe, joining the women's national teams which have been part of the game series since FC 25.
Regarding the exclusion of Russian teams in FC 25. EA confirmed o Eurogamer it would maintain the ban of Russian teams in FC games after they were all pulled from cheap Fut Coins as a show of solidarity with Ukraine. The decision means there will be no Russian national team or Russian clubs playable when the game releases, reflecting FC 's suspension of Russia issued earlier in 2022 alongside Belarus, a close ally of Russia.
